About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide structural support to military or commercial engine components through all Product Development Phases
  • Perform ANSYS finite element analysis for stress, vibration, mission low cycle fatigue life, residual life prediction and optimization
  • Perform stress testing and data reduction
  • Support production and in-service field investigations
  • Participate on multi-discipline integrated product teams as the structures focal
  • Provide design solutions balancing durability, performance, cost and weight requirements
  • Coordinate ways to advance technology and improve processes
  • Document and present results to management and external customers
  • Support quality initiatives using CORE tools
  • Support AS9100 efforts
  • Contribute to the design, development and in-service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, and nacelles

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
  • Relocation is not offered
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills preferred
  • Team oriented and cultural awareness preferred
  • Knowledge of ANSYS, Workbench, APDL, MATLAB, VBA, Python, C++, MS Office, NX Teamcenter and SAP preferred
