About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement digital signal processing algorithms
- Implement FPGA-based designs for interface communications, controls, and/or data processing applications
- Work with a team to determine technical approaches and solutions for FPGA-based designs
- Lead small teams and mentor junior engineers as needed
- Design and deliver production-quality FPGA releases from proof of concept through production
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, software engineers, and program management
- Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
- Translate system-level requirements into FPGA requirements
- Design and code in VHDL
- Verify designs using self-checking techniques, directed and constrained-random tests, and functional and code coverage
- Create requirements, verification plans, and user guides
- Support internal and external technical reviews
- Provide development support throughout the product lifecycle from initial concept through acceptance delivery and maintenance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- DoD Clearance: Secret
- Experience implementing DSP functions (ie. FFTs, FIR filters, etc) in FPGAs using VHDL/Verilog and VHDL simulation tools
- Experience designing filters in Matlab
- Experience with high speed interfaces such as 100 GbE, PCIE, DDR
- Experience with Timing Closure and utilizing Chipscope / Signal Tap
- Experience with RADAR system hardware
- Experience developing DSP algorithms and FPGA designs using High Level Synthesis (HLS)
- Working knowledge/course work of signal & image processing, digital communications and/or control theories
- Experience using synthesis tools including Synplify and back-end tools including Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus and others
- Experience and knowledge developing and selling off requirements for FPGAs
- Working knowledge of Configuration Management principles, environments and tools
- Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as RS-422, USB, PCIe, etc.
- Working knowledge and experience with configuration management tools such as Synergy, Clearcase, or git
- Proficiency in Linux
- Willingness to support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel
