About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design, development, and testing of software in an agile, collaborative environment
Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, delegate tasks, and provide guidance
Resolve complex software trouble reports using debugging tools and optimize code performance
Provide technical leadership in agile execution and drive continuous improvement
Ensure adherence to industry best practices
Contribute directly to requirements, implementation, and test development
Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests
Develop networking and command-and-control software supporting threat and weapon simulations
Support secure Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation systems from concept through accreditation, production, and installation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using Java, C++, or C#
Experience in agile software development methodologies, such as scrum, SAFe, or DevSecOps
Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship required
Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Experience with Windows and Linux development environments preferred
Experience with multithreading preferred
Experience with networking and communications protocols preferred
Experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure such as Jenkins, Git, and Bitbucket preferred
Experience with containerized applications such as Docker preferred
Python experience is a plus
