About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, development, and testing of software in an agile collaborative environment
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, delegate tasks, and provide guidance
  • Resolve complex software trouble reports using debugging tools
  • Identify and fix software defects and optimize code performance
  • Provide technical leadership and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices
  • Contribute to requirements, implementation, and test development
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests
  • Develop mission-critical ground software for networking, command and control, threat, and weapon simulations
  • Support secure Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation systems from concept through accreditation, production, and installation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using Java, C++, or C#
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies such as Scrum, SAFe, or DevSecOps
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Typically, a STEM degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Experience with Python is preferred
  • Experience with Windows and Linux development environments
  • Experience with multithreading
  • Experience with networking and communications protocols
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure such as Jenkins, Git, and Bitbucket
  • Experience with containerized applications such as Docker
