About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure overall Engineering execution within the program and exercise decision authority over Engineering activities
Manage the Engineering budget and schedule, reviewing execution with engineering discipline organizations
Maintain accurate staffing forecasts and coordinate staffing assignments across local, distributed, and supplier resources
Oversee engineering program metrics and apply Technical Performance Measures to assess technical progress and risk
Provide accurate and timely status reports to Program and Engineering organizations
Interact with suppliers critical to program and engineering success
Develop executable Estimates at Completion with Engineering Cost Account Managers
Manage engineering Risks and Opportunities across the program
Conduct Engineering Bid Reviews and Engineering Program Reviews
Support Program Management Reviews for Engineering matters
Serve as the primary technical execution interface and single Engineering point of contact
Lead and coordinate all Engineering activities for communications systems programs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience as a Project Engineer, Technical Subcontract Manager, or Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary systems, electrical, mechanical, software, and logistics engineering teams
Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines, especially communications systems development and military electronics
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Knowledge of Risk and Opportunity management
Active and transferable SECRET clearance required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Experience with agile and/or DevSecOps development methodologies preferred
Ability to lead a development team through transition to production preferred
Experience developing satellite communications systems preferred
