About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct supplier qualification, certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes
  • Analyze quality data and recommend supplier- and part-specific issue resolutions and corrective actions
  • Research and explain root cause analysis and problem solving using Red-X and 8D in escape management procedures
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions for systemic process and product design problems involving supplier-provided products
  • Conduct supplier qualification/certification, source inspection, material release, Correction Action Board, and DQ Clinic processes with suppliers
  • Support the UTC Supplier Gold program to ensure continuous improvement and sustainability
  • Review processes and metrics and recommend actions to ensure suppliers meet requirements for work transfer and process change management
  • Support Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineering partners
  • Lead root-cause and corrective-action activities and support supplier onboarding and certification

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Strong Engineered Items background
  • Experience working with suppliers and/or engineering in a supply chain operations environment, including monitoring, auditing, or developing suppliers/operations, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Quality Regulations and Quality Core Tools
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Practical Problem Solving knowledge
  • Knowledge of international management system standards and authorities/regulations/standards
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Auditing/Assessing knowledge
  • Risk Management and Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) knowledge desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or similar field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and develop effective cross-functional teamwork
  • Ability to persuade stakeholders to follow ideas and proposals
  • U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Ability to travel up to 50% depending upon candidate location
