About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate supplier manufacturing performance through onsite diagnostics of processes, equipment, tooling, flow, and quality systems
  • Execute readiness and capability assessments, including FAI reviews, PFMEA audits, SPC capability checks, cycle-time validation, bottleneck analysis, and Run-at-Rate support
  • Troubleshoot quality escapes, yield issues, and production instability to identify root causes
  • Maintain supplier readiness documentation, capability data, RCCA evidence, and capacity models
  • Assist with corrective and preventive actions using 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone analysis
  • Coach supplier operators, technicians, and quality personnel on process discipline, standard work, and problem-solving
  • Participate in program and operations reviews, reporting yield, stability, bottlenecks, and schedule risk
  • Support early performance plans and improved supplier work practices
  • Escalate technical issues, capacity constraints, and quality risks using operational and basic financial indicators
  • Follow EXIM requirements by Command Media
  • Travel regularly to supplier facilities and support suppliers outside the United States in the Arctic region

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum five (5) years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum three (3) years' experience
  • Experience with manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, or a related technical role
  • Experience with PFMEA, SPC, capability analysis (Cpk/Ppk), GD&T, AS9100/ISO9001, FAI processes, APQP, statistical analysis, and/or Government Source Inspection on Raytheon hardware at the supplier
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance required prior to start date
  • Current Secret security clearance, active and existing on day 1
  • Ability to travel 50–60% of the time to supplier locations
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other precision manufacturing environments preferred
  • Hands-on experience with tooling assessments, gage R&R, or control-plan auditing preferred
  • Exposure to capacity analysis, OEE evaluation, or bottleneck mapping preferred
  • Lean/Six Sigma training or certification preferred
  • Experience coaching entry-level supplier engineering or quality staff preferred
  • Ability to perform technical diagnostics, validate process capability, and identify root causes preferred
  • Ability to analyze cycle time, OEE inputs, scrap trends, and labor patterns preferred
  • Ability to work onsite at supplier locations regularly preferred
  • Experience supporting structured RCCA (8D, 5-Why) with measurable effectiveness preferred
  • Knowledge of Government Source Inspection on Raytheon hardware preferred
