About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with manufacturing sites, maintenance teams, engineering organizations, equipment suppliers and technical experts to improve equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness
  • Apply reliability engineering principles and maintenance best practices to reduce recurring failures and develop preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies
  • Analyze equipment performance and maintenance data to identify bad actors, recurring failures and improvement opportunities
  • Use maintenance downtime, MTBF, MTTR, repeat failures, PM performance and maintenance history metrics to prioritize improvements
  • Perform and facilitate root cause analysis for significant and recurring equipment failures and help develop corrective actions
  • Apply FMEA, equipment criticality and reliability-centered maintenance principles to evaluate equipment risks and maintenance requirements
  • Review preventive maintenance programs and improve task content, frequencies and effectiveness
  • Support maintenance planning, scheduling, backlog management, work-order quality, job plans and failure coding using SAP or other CMMS/EAM systems
  • Improve maintenance and reliability data quality and support deployment of common standards across manufacturing sites
  • Participate in site maintenance assessments and identify gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Support predictive maintenance and asset-health initiatives, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound and oil analysis
  • Partner with OEE and Industrial Engineering teams to translate equipment availability losses into maintenance and reliability improvements
  • Provide maintenance and reliability input for new and modified equipment and participate in design and maintainability reviews
  • Work with OEM technical and service organizations on troubleshooting, equipment repair, failure analysis and reliability improvement
  • Evaluate OEM and third-party maintenance providers and document lessons learned for sharing across sites

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or another relevant technical discipline and 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, industrial maintenance, equipment reliability or a related technical field OR a Master's degree in engineering and 3 or more years of prior relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Experience working with industrial/manufacturing equipment and troubleshooting equipment problems
  • Experience participating in or facilitating root cause analysis and structured problem solving
  • Experience analyzing equipment and maintenance data and identifying trends and recurring problems
  • Working knowledge of equipment reliability principles and maintenance work-management fundamentals, including work orders, preventive maintenance, planning, scheduling and backlog management
  • Experience working with a CMMS/EAM system
  • Travel up to 50%
  • Familiarity with FMEA, RCM, asset criticality or PM optimization
  • Experience with SAP PM/EAM
  • Exposure to predictive or condition-based maintenance technologies
  • Reliability or maintenance training/certification, or interest in pursuing certifications such as CMRP or predictive-maintenance certifications
