About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research operating environments and functionality of components, interactions with mating parts, and other design factors
- Collaborate with Repair Development Engineers in prototyping new repairs and Source Demonstration
- Engage with audits as needed
- Develop strategies to return damaged parts to service
- Create technical documents providing engineering requirements for repairs
- Provide routine status reports to customers and management through various channels
- Support investigations of engine field incidents leading to root cause and corrective actions
- Support development of serviceable and repairable limits for engine part wear
- Participate in cross-discipline integrated product teams to provide design solutions balancing performance, cost, schedule, and quality
- Learn to design repair processes while complying with regulatory agency requirements
- Interpret and use part drawings and inspection documentation
- Identify part distress and select appropriate repair methods to return parts to serviceable condition
Requirements
What you’ll need- Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined in the posting
- Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
- English (read, write, speak) is required
- Security clearance is not required
