About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications supporting GSS Security
  • Develop new features using ASP.NET MVC, C#, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and SQL Server
  • Design and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for large enterprise datasets
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across application code, SQL Server, and production environments
  • Automate manual compliance processes through software solutions
  • Collaborate with system stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain and modernize existing applications while developing new capabilities
  • Document technical designs, database changes, and application functionality
  • Work across the full application stack, including databases, backend services, web applications, and production troubleshooting
  • Work as an individual contributor on an agile development team
  • Partner with GSS Center of Excellence personnel and Digital Technology partners
  • Align regularly with tasking within a DevOps framework

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • 5 years of direct experience in Software Engineering
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance required prior to start date
  • Current Secret security clearance required on day 1
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Experience designing SQL Server stored procedures, views, functions, indexes, and query optimization
  • Experience with DevSecOps, including Azure DevOps, Git, Pull Requests, CI/CD, and work item management
  • Experience with C#, SQL Server, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or ASP.NET MVC
  • Experience with ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, SQL Server, Stored Procedures, REST APIs, JSON, jQuery, Bootstrap, DataTables, IIS, Azure DevOps, and Git
  • Must reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states, excluding U.S. territories
  • Preferred: experience with Agile development methods including Scrum, automated testing, and continuous integration
  • Preferred: experience developing applications supporting cybersecurity, compliance, governance, or enterprise operations
  • Preferred: understanding of layered, event-tier, microkernel, or other software architectural frameworks
  • Preferred: experience implementing compliance regulations such as DFARS, DAAPM, JASIG, ICD, FAA, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, or other government requirements
