About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead cost savings initiatives and coordinate with GSS/GSD and the business
  • Support headwind mitigation with a clear annual AOP strategy
  • Improve contract coverage using the Contract Work Book and negotiations
  • Prepare, execute, and maintain global commodity strategies, processes, standards, contracts, working capital, and operational plans
  • Support work transfers (G0 to G2) across commodities
  • Drive Component Engineering and Value Engineering to enable dual sourcing of existing parts portfolios
  • Lead teams and demonstrate team-building, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Develop project plans and manage projects through successful execution, overcoming obstacles
  • Manage global sourcing and/or operations activities across different cultures and styles
  • Negotiate Long Term Agreement amendments within approved negotiation sandboxes and maintain supplier contractual coverage
  • Drive cost savings through strategic contract negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and stakeholder alignment
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Program Management on new product introductions and supplier transitions
  • Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with business units and corporate commodity organizations to develop and execute commodity strategies
  • Manage Long Term Agreement coverage, supplier performance, product cost reduction, supplier agreements, and compliance monitoring
  • Drive standardization and strategy for complex part groups

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14+ years prior relevant experience
  • Willingness to travel (25%) locally and international
  • 10+ years in global procurement, commodity strategy, and contract negotiations
  • Experience in cost optimization, supplier management, RFQs, and SAP
  • Knowledge of NPI, work transfers, TCO, cost benchmarking, and spend analysis
  • Aerospace or automotive industry experience preferred
  • Background check required
  • Drug screen required for Operations positions
