About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary Global Trade contact for the East Hartford site
  • Coordinate global trade activities across the site
  • Partner with GTPS to identify, assess, and manage global trade issues, opportunities, and enhancements
  • Lead and coordinate site-level Global Trade councils
  • Serve as point of contact for site audits, corrective actions, site card maintenance, and related data
  • Maintain a site presence and support site-wide communications
  • Coordinate between GTPS teams and manage facility requirements
  • Ensure program alignment across the site
  • Serve as GTPS Engineering screening escalation point of contact
  • Review and approve University projects, visitor requests, and badge access requests
  • Provide SAP-GTS subject matter expertise on compliant transactions for GTPS Engineering locations
  • Report to GTPS Engineering with a strong dotted line to the GT Program Management Office

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of global trade experience, including experience ensuring compliance with ITAR, EAR, and U.S. sanctions regulations; OR advanced degree with 7+ years of global trade experience
  • U.S. citizenship required due to program requirements
  • Experience with ITAR, EAR, and U.S. sanctions regulations
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills related to cross-functional work in a matrixed organization
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop clear, concise, logically written business communications and deliver recommendations
  • Ability to motivate, influence, manage crisis, and develop effective internal networks
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple business functions
  • Ability to make quick decisions and exercise good judgment, escalating issues when appropriate
  • Experience working with executive-level management
  • Advanced degree preferred
