About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage one of the ASDS Mechanical Procurement teams
  • Establish effective measures of performance and metrics
  • Ensure team members have the knowledge and skills to perform purchasing tasks under FAR/DFAR
  • Provide on-the-job training and support to address skill and knowledge gaps
  • Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to clarify and refine scope of supply, purchasing requirements, and statements of work
  • Manage procurement-process compliance and ensure required approvals are in place before purchase order release
  • Engage specialists to address conflicts and risks involving supplier terms and conditions
  • Support supplier negotiations and supplier performance management
  • Support on-site supplier activities and supplier selection where appropriate
  • Travel to the supply base when required, approximately 10%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of ten (10) years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations
  • Significant knowledge leading and managing procurement processes, projects, and tactics for development programs
  • Broad knowledge and skills in procurement and contracting, including FAR/DFAR
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in procurement activities and managing internal customer and supplier relationships
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and influencing operational parties within a compliance framework
  • Experience with multiple subcontract types, including FFP, T&M, CPFF, and CPIF
  • Prior defense industry experience, preferably aerospace
  • Experience guiding executive and program-level supplier reviews and conducting negotiations
  • Ability to understand technical concepts/applications
  • Experience managing financial and operational Risks and Opportunities
  • Experience recruiting, training, mentoring, and coaching a team
  • Executive-level presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a US Government Security Clearance
  • Availability to travel to the supply base when required, approximately 10%
