About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead systems engineering through stakeholder requirements capture, behavioral analysis, system architecture design, system verification, system validation, and lifecycle product support
  • Lead the definition, development, and execution of the System Solutions strategy and roadmap
  • Own system architecture decisions and establish technical direction
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams for adoption, continuous improvement, and program support
  • Support coordination with System Method Representatives and System Discipline Boards
  • Provide technical inputs, align priorities, and represent systems engineering needs
  • Support collaboration with the Digital Product Lifecycle Technical Advisory Board
  • Coordinate dependencies and knowledge transfer across System Solutions teams and the System Program Manager
  • Provide technical inputs, status, risks, and recommendations
  • Support proposal and business development activities using systems engineering methodologies and automation practices
  • Mentor and train junior systems engineers
  • Travel up to 15% as needed for program and collaboration efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Experience in multiple areas of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development, design, integration, verification, validation, and technical documentation
  • Hands-on experience applying ARP4754 throughout the system development lifecycle
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama, Polarion, and DOORS
  • Experience or interest in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Teamwork Cloud, and SysML modeling
  • Experience or familiarity with computer vision, machine learning, and/or optical character recognition
  • Experience or familiarity with DevSecOps framework
  • Experience or familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Experience working in aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment
  • Experience working in a configuration-controlled environment, including problem reports and change requests
  • Ability to work within Eastern Time Zone core and global teams, including India Standard Time
  • Experience developing automation with Python, Bash, or PowerShell and thoroughly testing implementations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with internal teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Practical project management capability, including managing complex projects, multiple stakeholders, and common technical processes
  • Ability to collaborate across teams
  • Must be a U.S. Person
  • Security clearance is not required
