About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the overall lifecycle of Fixed Wing product lines from development through production and long-term performance
  • Set product strategy and manage financial performance and customer outcomes
  • Own the product roadmap and make cost, schedule, performance, competitiveness, and capacity decisions
  • Chair the Integrated Project Team and manage cost, schedule, performance, and on-time delivery
  • Serve as the face of the organization to customers
  • Manage Profit and Loss for large program and project value streams in sustaining production and new development
  • Lead risk and opportunity management for programs in production
  • Coordinate proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and contract financial conditions
  • Lead development of program plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Establish key performance indicators and direct work to achieve targets
  • Analyze data and monitor programs for cost, schedule, and technical-specification adherence
  • Present business plans and progress reports to senior leadership and customers
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives using CORE, lean, or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Identify and resolve program problems involving safety, customer satisfaction, obsolescence, work transfers, capacity improvements, and supplier requests
  • Align cross-functional work with customer program objectives through development and production phases
  • Direct program phases from proposal development through program completion
  • Interface with customers regarding program requirements
  • Manage contract lifecycle, cost, schedule, and performance of company programs or subsystems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • Program or product management experience
  • Experience with program management systems including manpower planning, program scheduling, cost controls, and earned value management
  • Experience in operations and production flow management including supply chain oversight
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing techniques and technical requirements
  • Knowledge of aerospace contracts
  • Experience with proposal preparation and customer negotiations preparation
  • Knowledge of aerospace policies, procedures, and system requirements including quality, manufacturing, and program management
  • Applied theory level knowledge of the management system
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Significant on-site presence in the Rome, NY facility required
