About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop embedded flight software for electric power distribution and conversion systems
  • Perform full software development life cycle activities, including requirements, architecture and design, implementation, integration, testing, verification, and certification support
  • Develop safety-critical aerospace software primarily in C
  • Support compliance with DO-178B/C and Design Assurance Levels A–C
  • Participate in software reviews, certification activities, and SOI audits
  • Participate in the Software Discipline Council to improve standard work and department practices
  • Measure and analyze software designs for current and future business needs
  • Build and implement hardware and software product-development procedures
  • Operate equipment and computer systems for testing and software design
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug control and diagnostic systems
  • Collaborate with the Software Lead and equipment designers on electronic data processing systems
  • Perform timing, memory, and stack-usage analyses
  • Analyze system capabilities and resolve issues involving program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition
  • Ensure hardware and software standards are met
  • May develop company-wide software configuration standards
  • Work with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
  • Alternatively, an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Full life-cycle software development experience, from requirements analysis through hardware/software integration and testing
  • Knowledge of software development processes
  • Experience with Polarion, SVN, Telelogic Synergy, Telelogic Rational DOORS, and MATLAB preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience delivering information to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • U.S. Person required
