About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform structural analysis for Externals and Mechanical Systems hardware throughout preliminary design, detailed design, validation, certification, and support for manufacturing and operational service
  • Serve as the structural representative on multi-disciplinary integrated product teams
  • Provide balanced design solutions meeting customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight
  • Support validation test activities, including live instrumentation monitoring, test-data post-processing, and evaluation against program requirements
  • Assist with in-service field investigations
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, Workbench, and Teamcenter
  • Apply classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance
  • Contribute to technology development and continuous improvement of engineering standard work processes and methods
  • Document analysis results and present findings to management and external customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering
  • 5 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree in Engineering with 3 years of engineering experience
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Knowledge of Externals and/or Mechanical Systems engine components preferred
  • M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering preferred
  • Proficiency in Teamcenter, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis preferred
  • Theoretical to advanced knowledge of Structural engineering through degree and experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • English (read, write, speak) required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
