About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform tasks in a classified closed lab environment
- Create precision mechanical/electrical design layouts from verbal instructions, sketches, existing hardware, or engineering models
- Collaborate with and receive direction from mechanical/electrical engineering and technical support personnel
- Prepare records for release of design data and documentation into company data and documentation control systems
- Mentor new mechanical designers or engineers on design database and documentation release procedures
- Assist engineering in determining specifications for materials, finishes, processes, connectors, and other electrical components
- Apply company, industry, and contractual standards to hardware design and documentation
- Prepare technical documentation for hardware design data release
- Assist engineering with data and documentation revisions in the document control system
- Maintain awareness of contractually controlled design and documentation requirements
- Manage moderately complex tasks independently and select effective solutions using practical experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing Top Secret DoD security clearance required after day 1
- 1+ years experience in 3D modeling using SolidWorks or Siemens
- Experience with Siemens NX preferred
- Must meet eligibility requirements and be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement
