About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide second-level support for the Snowflake Data Lake environment
Troubleshoot issues escalated by first-level support
Develop, test, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and PL/SQL scripts
Manage and enhance ETL/ELT workflows using Matillion
Translate business requirements into technical designs and solutions
Use Jira for case management, issue tracking, and story pointing
Maintain and enhance existing processes and create new processes where gaps exist
Document processes, workflows, and troubleshooting guides in Confluence
Collaborate on data model design and Snowflake performance optimization
Support data integration and seamless data flow across systems
Provide operational support for Global Trade data, including ingestion, transformation, and reporting
Monitor and maintain data quality and integrity
Follow best practices for data security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a related technical role, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
Intermediate to strong knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, and PL/SQL
Hands-on experience with Matillion for ETL/ELT processes
Basic understanding of Git and version control principles
Understanding of ETL/ELT principles and experience designing and maintaining data pipelines
Ability to translate business and technical requirements into actionable technical designs
Experience using Jira for managing tasks, tracking cases, and applying story pointing for Agile workflows
Experience with process documentation and knowledge management tools, preferably Confluence
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently
U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract
Working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation preferred
Familiarity with Global Trade data and supporting applications preferred
Hands-on experience with Power BI preferred
Experience with Snowflake features such as virtual warehouses, data sharing, and performance tuning preferred
Understanding of data governance principles and best practices preferred
