About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support programs on Software Development Lifecycle activities, including requirements, design, code, and testing
- Work in close coordination with Collins Aerospace system/software engineers within the domain to drive unified goals
- Support the system integration pipeline to automate and optimize development and deployment for complex military avionics systems
- Research and select modern tooling
- Integrate tooling, applications, and scripts into the development pipeline
- Research and select technologies to enable automation and increase flow
- Develop small applications and scripts to support integration and flow of software updates
- Create frameworks to automate software testing, deployment, and delivery
- Perform design, development, integration, and verification activities for Military Avionics solutions
- Travel is possible, estimated at less than 10% of the year
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Airborne Software development/testing experience preferred
- Experience with Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) preferred
- RTCA/DO-178 (or similar) certification-based experience preferred
- Knowledge in AGILE/Waterfall methods preferred
- Programming Language experience: C/C++, Python, HTML, Javascript, CSS, Ada 95 etc. preferred
- Knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, LynxOS, etc. preferred
- Experience with Tools/Processes: Git, GitLab, SVN, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo/Panda, etc. preferred
- Familiarity with Docker Desktop and/or containerization preferred
- Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
- Relocation is not offered
