About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in a Monday-Friday Co-Op session from July to December
  • Support programs across the Software Development Lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and verification
  • Collaborate with system and software engineers across Collins Aerospace to drive unified technical goals
  • Develop small applications and scripts supporting integration, automation, and continuous software updates
  • Assist in creating frameworks to automate testing, deployment, and software delivery
  • Gain insights into the engineering team in Puerto Rico and exposure to aerospace technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and enrolled through the completion of the co-op session
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience preferred
  • Familiarity with certification-based development such as RTCA/DO-178 or similar preferred
  • Knowledge of Agile or Waterfall methodologies preferred
  • Experience with C/C++, Python, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, or Ada 95 preferred
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, or LynxOS preferred
  • Familiarity with Git, GitLab, SVN, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo/Panda preferred
  • Experience with Docker Desktop or similar containerization preferred
