Staff Technician – Electro-Mechanical Designer
RTX. Perform advanced technical tasks to create precision mechanical/electrical design layouts from verbal instructions, sketches, existing hardware, or engineering models .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform advanced technical tasks to create precision mechanical/electrical design layouts from verbal instructions, sketches, existing hardware, or engineering models
- Select and adapt engineering techniques for electro-mechanical design
- Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineering and technical support personnel
- Prepare records for release of design data and documentation into company data and documentation control systems
- Mentor new mechanical designers or engineers on design database and documentation release procedures
- Assist engineering with specifications for materials, finishes, processes, connectors, and electrical components
- Prepare technical documentation for hardware design data release
- Assist with data and documentation revisions in the document control system
- Maintain awareness of contractually controlled design and documentation requirements
- Diagnose root causes and evaluate solution paths for complex, unfamiliar, or multi-step problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires an AA/AS degree or other 2-year post-high-school training with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing Top Secret DoD security clearance required after day 1
- 1+ years of experience in 3D modeling using SolidWorks or Siemens
- Experience with Siemens NX preferred
- Advanced proficiency with CAD/data management tools
- Ability to apply company, industry, and contractual standards
- Ability to work in a classified closed lab environment
