About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support design and development of externals and mechanical systems parts
- Perform structural analysis for Externals and Mechanical Systems hardware through preliminary design, detailed design, validation, certification, manufacturing support, and operational service
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, Workbench, and Teamcenter
- Apply classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance
- Contribute to technology development and continuous improvement of engineering standard work processes and methods
- Document analysis results and present findings to management and external customers
- Collaborate with senior engineers, present work, ask technical questions, and adapt to a professional engineering environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering and actively enrolled through completion of the internship/co-op session
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract
- English (read, write, speak) is required for communication with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
- Must reside in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
- Relocation is not offered
- Security clearance is not required
