About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support 4 or 5 Pratt & Whitney suppliers in the Los Angeles area in achieving platinum-level performance
  • Train and coach suppliers on root-cause analysis, lean manufacturing, cell design, capacity assessment, equipment maintenance, EH&S issues, and shop cleanliness
  • Improve relationships between Pratt & Whitney and suppliers through better communication, fewer outside visits, additional business opportunities, reduced financial risks, and long-term relationship development
  • Spend approximately 80% of time on-site at suppliers in the Los Angeles area and 20% working from a home office
  • Assess supplier capability and sustainability through the Supplier Health Assessment (SHA)
  • Develop Supplier Continuous Improvement Plan (SCIP) action plans to close performance gaps
  • Track SCIP actions and drive closure to reach gold-level performance
  • Manage capacity constraints through planning and corrective actions
  • Conduct on-site training and coaching for supplier teams
  • Coordinate with Pratt & Whitney technical teams to improve design for manufacturing
  • Coordinate with Pratt & Whitney purchasing teams to stabilize production demands and identify root causes and corrective actions for Pratt & Whitney-caused misses
  • Establish and track weekly leading performance indicators at suppliers
  • Expedite deliveries and resolve quality issues as required
  • Improve supplier performance, profitability, and culture while building relationships and promoting continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Reside in the Los Angeles, CA area
  • Experience in Operations, preferably with investment castings, forgings, or machining
  • Additional experience in Quality and/or Continuous Improvement roles strongly desired
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated business-performance accomplishments using ACE tools
  • Hands-on experience with structured project management and problem-solving using ACE tools
  • Ability to communicate with shop-floor operators, the Pratt & Whitney supply chain team, and supplier leadership
  • Ability to initiate, lead, and sustain change activities at suppliers
  • Operations experience running a shop or cell where lean manufacturing was implemented
  • Significant engagement with lean manufacturing or operational-excellence tools
  • Six-Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • CORE Certification or equivalent skills preferred
  • SHA certified assessor preferred
  • ITC / BAER experience preferred
