About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist 4 or 5 Los Angeles-area Pratt & Whitney suppliers in achieving platinum-level performance
- Train and coach suppliers in root cause analysis, lean manufacturing, cell design, capacity assessment, equipment maintenance, EH&S, and shop cleanliness
- Improve relationships between Pratt & Whitney and suppliers through better communication, fewer outside visits, business opportunities, risk reduction, and long-term relationships
- Work on-site at suppliers 80% of the time in the Los Angeles area
- Work from a home office 20% of the time
- Assess supplier capability through the SHA (Supplier Health Assessment)
- Develop supplier action plans (SCIP) to close performance gaps
- Track SCIP and drive closure to reach gold-level performance
- Manage capacity constraints through planning and corrective actions
- Conduct on-site training and coaching for supplier teams
- Coordinate with the Pratt & Whitney technical team to improve design for manufacturing
- Coordinate with the PW purchasing team to stabilize production demands and identify root causes and corrective actions
- Establish and track weekly leading performance indicators on-site at suppliers
- Expedite deliveries and resolve quality issues as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Reside in the Los Angeles, CA area
- Experience in Operations, preferably with a company doing investment castings, forgings, or machining
- Additional experience in Quality and/or Continuous Improvement roles strongly desired
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated track record of accomplishment in business performance using ACE tools
- Hands-on experience with structured project management and problem-solving skills using ACE tools
- Ability to communicate with shop floor operators, the PW supply chain team, and supplier leadership
- Ability to initiate, lead, and sustain change activities at the supplier
- Operations experience running a shop or cell where lean manufacturing was implemented
- Significant engagement with lean manufacturing or operational excellence tools
- Six-Sigma Blackbelt
- Raytheon Technologies or equivalent CORE Certification
- SHA certified assessor
- ITC / BAER experience
