About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform in a cross-functional agile team
  • Work closely with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes
  • Create, decompose, and trace requirements for communications systems on military air and ground platforms
  • Use model-based systems engineering applications to create logical and physical design diagrams
  • Perform integration and testing for communications solutions
  • Support future bids and proposals that provide new business opportunities
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of advanced communication solutions for critical customer and mission needs
  • Collaborate with systems engineering experts, security and crypto certification specialists, customers, and engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Active U.S. government-issued DoD Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or similar resources using SysML
  • Experience with software and system requirements development
  • Ability to define requirement specifications and functional requirements
  • Ability to perform modeling and simulation for system analysis
  • Experience with system testing and validation
  • Skilled in software validation processes
  • Proficiency in Linux environments
  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis
  • Experience with the AS9100 Certification Audit process
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
  • Strong understanding of risk management practices
  • Experience with document management practices
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools, including Confluence and Jira
  • Strong oral communication skills
