About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and develop a team of Discipline Chief Engineers and Subject Matter Experts
  • Foster talent growth and capability development
  • Harmonize technical expertise across the Ejection, Propulsion, Simulation and Tactical departments
  • Collaborate with Department and Functional Leaders, Project Family Chief Engineers, and Discipline Leads to align engineering goals and strategies
  • Define and uphold discipline standards, methods, and tools
  • Ensure technical excellence and design integrity
  • Establish and maintain a unified framework for organizational skills and capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and deliver high-quality, consistent outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical rigor and operational efficiency
  • Support Collins Aerospace Mission Systems, which delivers intelligent and secure communications, missionized systems, and collaborative space solutions for civilian, military, and government customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience defining and implementing discipline standards, methods, and tools within an engineering organization
  • Experience leading teams focused on technical excellence and design integrity
  • Experience in talent development and fostering growth within engineering disciplines
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience with Ejection, Propulsion, Simulation, and Tactical products preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the nine Collins Disciplines preferred
  • Security clearance is not required
