About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide engineering support for development engine tests and functional validation across Pratt & Whitney product lines (Commercial, Military, and Industrial)
  • Analyze engine systems through analytical tools and test data acquisition
  • Develop and coordinate test and analysis plans, instrumentation requirements, pre-test predictions, test procedures and methods
  • Provide on-site and remote test coverage
  • Manage and validate test data
  • Perform first-pass post-test data analysis
  • Prepare test reports and documentation for propulsion systems tests and functional validation
  • Lead TEA engine teams and technical projects
  • Develop leadership skills following the PW Leadership Operating Model
  • Mentor and support skill development of junior team members
  • Participate in discipline improvement activities and knowledge management
  • Interact and integrate daily with EDSI Systems Analysis Groups, Module Centers, Controls, Instrumentation, IT, and Product Validation Groups
  • Travel and work off-shift or weekends when necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree with 3 years of engineering experience
  • U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) required for communication with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
  • Previous experience in a test environment or engine data analysis preferred
  • 5 years of experience with project planning, risk assessment and mitigation, probabilistic analysis, and root cause analysis in the product test environment preferred
  • Experience with test planning, instrumentation requirements, pre-test predictions, on-site test coverage, test data management and validation preferred
  • Two years’ experience with test data analysis, test reporting and test conclusions preferred
  • Ability to travel 10–20% to engine test sites and customer/partner sites
  • Ability to work 1st shift with occasional off-shift and weekend work when needed
