About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support Pratt & Whitney shops for production and developmental shop assist purchasing
Quote, perform cost analysis and price justification, and place purchase orders for Mod Center Temporary (TVA) and Permanent (PVA) Vendor Assist
Interface with materials, quality, engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams
Monitor and manage suppliers and potentially develop alternate sources to ensure adequate capacity and internal customer fulfillment
Manage manufacturing and supplier relationships, including cost and inventory management and customer satisfaction
Manage on-time purchase order placement and execution, including expedited and premium deliveries through SA 6124s
Work billing adjustments, termination mitigation, and cost-reduction goals
Follow the P&W Procurement Manual and GSC Standard Work for Shop Assist
Reduce quality-related turnbacks through weekly QCPC/MRP turnback meetings
Attend and support VCAB meetings to resolve quality issues
Drive daily use of the ACE operating system to improve EH&S, quality, delivery, financial performance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction
Drive Supplier Gold through supplier improvement activities, supplier program reviews, and support for Supplier Gold Specialists

Requirements

What you’ll need

A University Degree or equivalent experience in business, supply chain, or related field and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience
U.S. citizenship is required
QCPC input to help reduce turnbacks
Experience in negotiating
Bachelor Degree in business, supply chain, technical discipline
Detail and results oriented with good problem solving skills
Ability to meet commitments, balance and resolve conflicting priorities
Excellent judgment and professional maturity
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with associates at all organizational levels
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Project
Ability to lead projects and develop and mentor other leaders
Experience using ACE tools to make process improvements
Highly motivated and self-starter with a strong desire to pursue continued growth and development
