About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and continuously enhance cloud-based Data & AI platforms
Develop platform strategies and target architectures together with clients and implement them technically
Design scalable and robust platform architectures as the foundation for data-driven solutions
Automate the provisioning of modern cloud infrastructures on Azure or AWS using Infrastructure as Code
Work with Terraform or OpenTofu and modern CI/CD processes
Design and enhance Databricks platforms covering workspaces, compute, networking, identity, security, and governance
Make architectural decisions and establish best practices for performance, security, governance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Develop reusable platform blueprints, standards, and automations
Evaluate new technologies and platform components and integrate them into existing architectures
Support Data, Analytics, and AI teams with stable, high-performance platforms
Contribute to technical concepts, architecture workshops, and the continuous improvement of standards
Advise clients on implementing their Data & AI strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience building modern cloud infrastructures and platform architectures
Very good knowledge of at least one cloud platform, ideally Microsoft Azure or AWS
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep, or comparable technologies
Strong understanding of scalable, secure, and maintainable system and platform architectures
Experience with technologies in the Data & AI domain, particularly Databricks
Knowledge of cloud networking, Identity & Access Management, security, and governance
Basic software development skills, such as Python, as well as experience working with APIs and automation
Experience with Git and CI/CD
Understanding of the requirements that Data, Analytics, ML, and AI workloads place on modern platforms
Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them effectively
Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
Very good German language skills (C2) and good English language skills
Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and governance concepts
Experience with Azure Private Link, VNet Integration, or comparable AWS networking concepts
Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable CI/CD solutions
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or other data platform technologies
Experience with landing zones, platform blueprints, or standardized cloud deployments
Experience in client projects and technical architecture workshops
Certifications in Databricks, Azure, or AWS
