About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Advise clients holistically on Data & AI issues and develop suitable solution approaches
Design and further develop modern Data & AI platforms and target architectures, particularly based on Databricks and Azure or AWS
Analyze complex business and technical requirements and translate them into architecture, data, and integration concepts
Support clients with Data Strategy, Cloud Data Platforms, Lakehouse, Data Governance, Analytics, and AI
Independently take on, structure, and manage workstreams or key project components
Collaborate with business departments, IT, Data Teams, and management
Prepare and evaluate architecture decisions and make them jointly with clients
Design and conduct workshops, assessments, architecture sessions, and proofs of concept
Provide professional and technical support to less experienced colleagues and share knowledge
Help develop best practices, standards, and reusable solution approaches
Advise clients on enhancing existing platforms with regard to scalability, governance, performance, security, and costs
Support Sales in client meetings, solution design, proposal preparation, and the development of new client projects
Accompany clients from presales sessions through go-live

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data & AI Consulting, or a comparable role
Extensive experience designing and implementing modern cloud data platforms
Very good knowledge of Databricks and experience with at least one cloud platform, ideally Azure or AWS
Excellent understanding of modern data architectures and concepts such as Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, Data Mesh, or Data Products
Experience in data modeling, data integration, and data governance
Good knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, or PySpark
Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into clear, actionable solution concepts
Experience independently managing workstreams, subprojects, or larger work packages
Confident presence when working with business departments, IT, and management
Enthusiasm for moderating workshops and developing technical and strategic topics with clients
Completed degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable qualification
Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
Very good German skills and good English skills
Experience with Microsoft Fabric or other modern Data & AI platforms
Experience with Data Strategy, Target Operating Models, or Data Governance concepts
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and Cloud Architecture
Experience with Machine Learning, GenAI, RAG, or AI platform architectures
Initial experience in professional leadership or mentoring
Experience in presales, proposal preparation, or client development
Certifications in Databricks, Azure, or AWS
