About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and technically oversee external law firms handling regulatory and criminal litigation, ensuring alignment with the company’s institutional legal positions.
- Prepare legal opinions and technical memoranda on ANTT resolutions, concession agreements, and amendments, anticipating operational impacts.
- Represent the company before ANTT, municipal governments, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and police authorities, handling administrative defense and strategic negotiations.
- Provide on-site or remote support during railway incidents, coordinating strategy and information gathering to protect the company’s interests.
- Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Environment, Safety, and other departments on legal matters to mitigate risks and support executive decision-making.
- Provide regulatory, regulatory litigation, and criminal law support to railway operations and corporate departments.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, public authorities, and internal business departments.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Postgraduate degree or specialization in Administrative/Regulatory Law and/or Infrastructure Law preferred.
- Strong knowledge of legislation and regulations applicable to the railway sector.
- Knowledge of Law No. 10,233/2001 and ANTT resolutions.
- Experience reviewing concession agreements, contractual amendments, and regulatory matters.
- Experience in regulatory litigation.
- Preparation of legal opinions, technical memoranda, and administrative defenses.
- Knowledge of legislation applicable to freight transportation.
- Management of external law firms and monitoring of strategic proceedings.
- Previous experience in the railway sector is a plus.
- Experience in infrastructure, logistics, or transportation companies is a plus.
- Experience managing crises and operational incidents is a plus.
- Experience negotiating with regulatory agencies and public authorities is a plus.
- Knowledge of railway operations and the business impact of regulatory requirements is a plus.
- English proficiency is a plus.
