About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a technical reference and mentor for development and integration teams, promoting best practices in governance, reuse, and API-Led Connectivity
  • Design robust, resilient, and scalable integration architectures, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and low latency
  • Define corporate guidelines for governance, contract versioning, API catalogs, and reusable component catalogs
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, technical leaders for legacy systems, cloud teams, and security teams to enable connected ecosystems
  • Evaluate and implement advanced API Management policies, rate limiting, traffic management, and regulatory compliance across exposure layers
  • Develop monitoring, observability, and telemetry strategies for APIs using Anypoint Visualizer, Monitoring, or third-party tools such as Datadog, Splunk, and Dynatrace
  • Lead root cause analyses (RCA) of critical integration incidents and propose structural improvements to capacity and resilience

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced proficiency with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Design Center, Exchange, API Manager, Runtime Manager, Access Management, and MQ
  • Strong experience in enterprise application integration (EAI), enterprise integration patterns (EIP), and event-driven architecture (EDA)
  • In-depth hands-on experience with Mule Runtime (Mule 4.x), DataWeave 2.0, and API development based on API-Led Connectivity principles (System, Process, and Experience APIs)
  • Experience specifying and designing API contracts using RAML and the OpenAPI Specification (OAS)
  • Proven experience with Anypoint Platform deployment models, including CloudHub (1.0/2.0), Runtime Fabric (RTF on Kubernetes/OpenShift), and/or On-Premises/Customer-Hosted environments
  • Strong knowledge of integration security, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, mTLS, JWT, API Gateway policies, and credential and secret management
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines applied to the MuleSoft lifecycle, including the Mule Maven Plugin, GitHub Actions, and Azure Pipelines, as well as automated testing with MUnit
  • Active official MuleSoft certifications, such as MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect (MCPA) and/or MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (MCIA) (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with architectural migration from CloudHub 1.0 to CloudHub 2.0 or adoption of Runtime Fabric (RTF) (preferred)
  • Experience with messaging and streaming brokers such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, or Azure Event Hubs/Service Bus (preferred)
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and public cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, Oracle, or GCP (preferred)
  • Knowledge of catalog automation, Anypoint API Community Manager, or native MuleSoft integration with the Salesforce ecosystem (preferred)
