Record or collect natural, spontaneous speech in accordance with the project guidelines
Participate in or capture speech from approved real-life situations, such as workplace conversations or casual one-on-one discussions
Complete individual or two-person conversational speech tasks, or participate in voice or voice-text interactions with an AI or machine-based system
Annotate collected speech data according to the instructions provided
Provide the required information and metadata related to each recording
Provide spontaneous speech to support evaluation and improvement of speech recognition and conversational AI technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Native-level fluency in Southern Sotho (South Africa)
Authentic pronunciation and strong familiarity with the target language through everyday use
Advanced level of English to understand written instructions
Contributors must not imitate dialects or accents that are not their own
Experience with speech recording or data annotation projects is an advantage, but not required
Strong attention to detail when providing annotations and recording metadata
Ability to follow detailed project and recording instructions
Quiet room or recording space with minimal background noise
Computer microphone or headset with microphone
Reliable internet connection
Ability to access and use an online recording platform
