About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research and prepare hiring and training grants for clients
  • Assist with compliance reporting after grant approvals
  • Research appropriate grants for client initiatives
  • Develop funding analysis reports and monitor deliverables
  • Research, update, and maintain the Firm’s Grant Program Database
  • Write and prepare business proposals and funding applications ranging from $5,000 to $20,000,000
  • Prepare and submit business cases and funding proposals with Managers and clients
  • Synthesize project information from research, client meetings, sales-team or manager notes, and previous proposals
  • Draft and review business plans and formal application files
  • Review financial statements and forecasts
  • Research online sources, market reports, client data, and interview notes to develop funding-proposal narratives
  • Assist with post-approval compliance and reporting
  • File and store project documentation and maintain file-management-system integrity
  • Provide CRM and systems recordkeeping, emails, and reporting to Managers
  • Prepare for and facilitate client and weekly team meetings
  • Support new program research and contact programs for information
  • Complete special projects such as blog writing, marketing support, and systems development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Humanities, Social Sciences, Business/Administration, Journalism, Accounting, or Science is required
  • 1+ years of experience in industry; various experience acceptable
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong decision-making skills: ability to work with limited information
  • Experience in business case writing
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
  • Preferred: experience in proposal writing
  • Preferred: experience preparing business and marketing plans
  • Preferred: industry experience in strategic planning, project management, or similar, ideally in manufacturing or advanced technology
  • Preferred: understanding of accounting and finance practices; ability to interpret an income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
