About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and develop a Global Mobility team delivering global mobility tax compliance and practical advisory services
  • Establish and maintain trusted client relationships and support the client sales cycle
  • Translate complex tax rules into practical, commercially focused advice
  • Build scalable processes, controls, tools, and ways of working to improve quality, efficiency, and risk management
  • Manage practice resources, assignments, training, technology, tools, and capabilities
  • Coordinate delivery with Ryan team members and service lines
  • Develop client work plans, delivery models, responsibilities, and schedules
  • Review client data, assignment and travel populations, compensation, payroll information, and tax calculations
  • Research and resolve complex global mobility tax matters
  • Prepare and conduct client presentations with practical recommendations and actions
  • Lead complex client matters and coordinate with tax authorities, external providers, and stakeholders
  • Support mobility program cost management, tax accruals, budgets, forecasts, billing, collections, and engagement financial management
  • Develop new clients, maintain relationships, identify service opportunities, and support practice growth
  • Ensure compliance with Firm policies, quality standards, and client delivery processes
  • Manage project scope, quality, timelines, budgets, risks, and client outcomes
  • Provide technical review and oversight of global mobility tax compliance and advisory work
  • Manage personnel, including capacity, development, performance, recruitment, and succession planning
  • Establish compliance calendars, trackers, controls, and governance processes
  • Lead practical advisory projects for mobility programs, policies, payroll processes, controls, and operating models
  • Maintain technical knowledge and participate in professional organizations, technical forums, and internal learning
  • Promote the practice, support recruitment, and build a pipeline of Global Mobility candidates
  • Directly supervise Global Mobility employees and perform coaching, performance management, work allocation, and recruitment support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance/Economics, Taxation, or a related field required
  • Significant relevant experience in global mobility tax, expatriate tax, or cross-border individual taxation
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex client engagements
  • Strong tax technical capability, practical problem-solving, client management, communication, and leadership skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
  • Experience with global mobility, tax compliance, workflow, data, or project management technology preferred
  • Relevant professional tax or accounting designation (for example, CPA, EA, CTA, ATT, or other appropriate designation) preferred, or demonstrated commitment to obtaining an appropriate designation
  • Valid driver’s license required where applicable to the role
