About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee Sr. Managers/Managers providing property tax consulting and appeal services for assigned clients
- Pursue new client opportunities and maintain existing client relationships
- Enforce policies, standards, and guidelines
- Research tax issues and oversee real property valuations
- Negotiate settlements related to assessment reduction
- Prepare and present assessment appeals and supporting litigation
- Create positive team member experiences that support client service, revenue, and profit
- Manage and monitor the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios
- Schedule, coordinate, and lead status calls and client presentations
- Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and negotiations through settlement
- Review and manage client contract terms, scope of services, and fees
- Manage client billing and ensure timely collection of receivables
- Lead business development, client retention, and cross-selling efforts
- Supervise, guide, mentor, and provide performance feedback to team members
- Ensure compliance with Firm policies, practice guidelines, and standards
- Distribute workloads and hold team members accountable for assigned projects
- Lead internal training, speak at external events, write articles, and participate in professional organizations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management or other degree with MBA, MST or JD required
- Minimum of ten years of property tax related experience required
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
- Valid driver’s license required
- Maintain professional designations such as Certified Member of the Institute (CMI), and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), or equivalent
- Active participation in professional organizations on a local and national level
