About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with a team to identify property tax savings opportunities for clients
  • Conduct research and analyze and interpret comparable assessment data, market data, and sales transactions
  • Assist with assessment review and monitor the appeal process for client portfolios
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities
  • Demonstrate understanding of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios
  • Build awareness of jurisdictional rules and filing requirements
  • Collect, review, and understand client-provided data
  • Inspect properties and prepare reports as required by management
  • Analyze assessment notices and determine potential assessment reductions
  • Use software to work efficiently with client data
  • Apply knowledge of assessment review, appeal determination, tax bill administration, and cost, sales comparison, and income valuation approaches
  • Apply assessment equalization methodology where applicable
  • Handle appeals and monitor the appeals process
  • Attend client status calls and meetings and provide supporting data and findings to leadership
  • Develop client knowledge by understanding their industries, trends, processes, and core businesses
  • Participate in recruiting efforts
  • Interact and communicate effectively with team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management, Public Administration, MIS/Entrepreneurship, International Business or other degree with MBA, MST or JD
  • One to three years of property tax or tax related experience
  • Candidates with appropriate valuation designations preferred
  • Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to perform 10% local travel
  • Prefer a local candidate in the Orlando market who can come into the office three-four times/week
