About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Properly classify a client's assets to accelerate depreciation and reduce the first-year tax burden
- Create positive team member and client experiences that support excellent client service and drive revenue and profit
- Respond to client inquiries
- Coordinate document requests and site visit scheduling
- Travel and perform site visits with clients and/or client representatives
- Work effectively with clients on a national basis
- Attend client meetings and property inspections
- Understand construction project life cycles
- Review client construction or acquisition documents and property tax records
- Perform engineering take-offs from civil, architectural, structural, and MEP construction plans
- Apply software knowledge to work efficiently with client data
- Prepare and review cost segregation study reports
- Assist with Estimates of Benefits as needed
- Research tax issues
- Interact frequently with team members
- Communicate effectively through written and verbal channels
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in cost segregation, building construction, engineering or construction estimating preferred
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong people skills
- Experience performing site visits
- Ability to reconcile construction costs
- Understanding of tax depreciation
- Ability to perform quantity takeoffs and estimate costs from drawings and physical structures
- Cost Segregation preparation experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate or other degree
- Must have 3.0 GPA or higher
- Relevant work experience preferred (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs) or Bachelor's degree and one to three years related to the construction industry, construction design or cost segregation related experience
- Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
- Leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn and apply practical application to solve problems
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Proficient at Microsoft® Word and Excel
- Intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research beneficial
- Experience with estimating software and construction costs software preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
