About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage assigned property claims promptly and effectively with minimal oversight
Make claim decisions within delegated authority according to company and carrier policies
Interpret policy coverages and apply appropriate claims practices
Establish and communicate reserves aligned with carrier expectations
Maintain current knowledge of insurance policies, guidelines, and industry practices
Apply knowledge of local construction methods, pricing, and repair standards
Submit supplemental reports, including severe incident reports and ITV reports, as needed
Provide customer service to insureds, clients, and stakeholders
Maintain professional conduct throughout assignments
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience handling property claims
Minimum 2 years of experience using Xactimate and Symbility estimating software
Strong understanding of insurance policies, practices, and procedures
General construction knowledge strongly preferred
Responsible for own taxes, insurance, and business expenses
Must meet all three ABC test criteria to qualify as a 1099 contractor: freedom from company control and direction, work outside the usual course of the company’s business, and engagement in an independently established trade or business
