About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Engineering and Design Software used at S&C Electric Company
  • Work with business clients, peers, and software suppliers to satisfy business requirements
  • Support design, engineering, and document control applications managed by the Engineering Systems team
  • Develop and deliver user documentation and training
  • Provide end-user support, including troubleshooting, investigating, and resolving model, software, and system usage problems
  • Participate in testing functional and technical system upgrades
  • Follow established standard work practices and procedures
  • Define new standard work as appropriate
  • Work the first shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • In-progress degree program from an accredited university/college program with a concentration in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or another related technical field
  • Must be returning to school full-time after the work session
  • Basic knowledge of design, engineering, and manufacturing concepts and methods
  • Ability to prioritize workload, complete multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Good analytical skills
  • Initiative to remain current with S&C’s core engineering and manufacturing systems
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand how technical issues impact business decisions
  • Energetic and positive attitude
  • Experience with computer programming and Solid Edge or similar CAD software is a plus
  • Occasional lifting of production parts and tooling weighing less than 50 pounds
  • Frequent walking throughout the facility indoors and outdoors
  • Frequent use of a personal computer, keyboard, and monitor
