About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support quotation, order write-up, and application for S&C products under minimal supervision
  • Serve as the main contact for customers
  • Provide assistance to team members regarding product knowledge, production processes, departmental procedures, and processes
  • Respond to internal clients by telephone, written communication, or in person
  • Perform basic electrical and protection engineering calculations, including available fault current analysis and fuse curve coordination
  • Learn and recommend protection for substation transformers, buses, and feeders
  • Collaborate on high-voltage protection projects
  • Learn and develop single-line diagrams for electrical utility and industrial customers’ high-voltage circuits
  • Summarize transmission- and distribution-level system protection specifications and apply S&C protection devices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Electrical engineering
  • Registered in an eligible co-op program
  • Eligible to work 4 months starting in the Winter 2027 work term
  • Knowledge of basic engineering concepts
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Ability to comprehend electric schematic drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to perform normal or frequent minor physical effort, including lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20 lbs
