About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Receive requirements from program representatives and source approved manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors
  • Issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and obtain pricing, availability, and repair-service turnaround times
  • Receive and validate purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with contractual requirements and established processes
  • Utilize the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Oversee RFQ and purchase-order requirements through material delivery or service completion
  • Coordinate, track, and expedite open items
  • Research and identify alternate sources of supply and repair to improve performance and value
  • Interface with suppliers, Quality Manager, Maintenance Manager, Accountable Manager, and Program Management
  • Document actions in database systems and furnish required data and reports
  • Evaluate requisitions, select procurement methods, administer competitive bids, evaluate supplier responses, and recommend awards
  • Execute purchase orders under applicable procurement regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Advise departmental and program personnel regarding specifications, complaints, and procurement issues
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve procurement problems
  • Research and recommend new supply sources
  • Train new procurement staff on bid development, pre-bids, and evaluation/award processes
  • Support procurement data research and required reports
  • Identify process-improvement opportunities and support continuous-improvement initiatives
  • Maintain communication with Program Management to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Represent S&K professionally at scheduled events and virtual WebEx meetings
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate Degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university/college required
  • 2–3 years’ experience in private or public sector contract administration, purchasing, vendor management, procurement card, accounting, finance, or a closely related field
  • Current driver’s license
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or proof of authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to satisfy a background investigation to obtain a security clearance
  • Within 12 months of hire, must possess one of the following certifications: Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) SCPro Level One, SCPro Level Two, SCPro Level Three, or other equivalent certification
  • Must communicate professionally and concisely with customers and employees
  • Must demonstrate ethics, responsibility, confidentiality, professionalism, punctuality, consistent dependability, and ability to multi-task
  • Well-developed time management and schedule coordination skills
  • Ability to work professionally with individuals or diverse groups
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and other applicable regulations is preferred
