About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define control system requirements while working with the customer in a team context
  • Design control systems, including architectures, performance analysis, and integration aspects
  • Manage systems requirements and perform compliance analysis
  • Make control systems-related technical decisions and provide the systems interface to the customer
  • Participate in system test rig design and system testing
  • Prepare documentation for system qualification and aircraft certification
  • Generate project plans and Monthly Execution Plans (MEP) to ensure the Programme Engineering budget is met
  • Support new business growth by promoting company capabilities to customers, investigating opportunities, and preparing responses to customer Requests for Proposal

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Academically qualified to degree level or equivalent ideally in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience of the development of Control Systems Architecture ideally from within the Aerospace or Automotive industry or similar safety critical industry
  • Experience of Motor or Generator control is of particular interest
  • Experience of requirements capture software, and Windchill for PLM
  • Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience of modelling of systems in Matlab/Simulink/Speedgoat
  • Technical report writing ability
  • Experience to exposure to VHDL would be beneficial
  • PID Controller experience
  • Understanding of Validation and Verification processes and HIL (Hardware in the loop)
  • Good self-organisation and communication skills
