About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Facilitate transportation services by sourcing carrier capacity, negotiating rates, and coordinating freight movements
- Serve as liaison between customers, carriers, and internal teams
- Negotiate transportation rates and pricing agreements with carriers
- Maintain customer and carrier relationships
- Source carrier capacity for customer transportation requirements and lane coverage
- Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
- Communicate shipment status updates, delays, and service exceptions
- Maintain transportation management systems and shipment records
- Resolve service issues, escalations, and shipment discrepancies with cross-functional teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (preferred)
- Experience using transportation management systems (TMS) (preferred)
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer or desk
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment
- Occasional lifting/carrying of office materials/boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Adequate vision and hearing, with or without correction
- Occasional movement, bending, and reaching
- Some travel may be required, including overnight travel
