About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in a virtual environment
  • Perform admissions, discharges, chart reviews, and other patient care duties via a secure link to patient rooms
  • Monitor and evaluate patient functional status and patient care outcomes
  • Document the nursing process and use proper medical terminology
  • Facilitate patient discharge through referrals and patient education
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and healthcare professionals
  • Support unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities
  • Prevent patient problems through telemedicine observation, surveillance of adverse physiological trends, prophylactic strategies, and medical chart review
  • Virtually evaluate patients and educate patients and families on disease processes and procedures
  • Perform clinician, educator, consultant/collaborator, and navigator responsibilities during virtual appointments
  • Coach and mentor floor nurses regarding patient care
  • Maintain knowledge of changing technology and equipment used in patient care
  • Coordinate activities and lead others in the same work without supervising

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of registered nurse experience in an acute care setting
  • Critical Care RN experience required
  • Completion of the basic professional curricula of an approved school of nursing, with a diploma or degree
  • Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License
  • Must meet and maintain Clinical Nurse II requirements pursuant to the Saint Francis Hospital Clinical Ladder for Registered Nurses
  • Ability to use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making
  • Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, the bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways
  • Ability to use tele/virtual monitoring equipment
  • Professional competence and autonomy
  • Availability for night shifts and rotating weekends
