About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as acoustics lead or Project Manager on a wide variety of acoustics and multidisciplinary projects
- Assist, support, and mentor other acoustics team members
- Lead and support acoustics projects in Canada
- Assist with business development opportunities and new relationship opportunities in Canada and the United States
- Collaborate with leading engineers and architects on complex, high-impact projects
- Work on projects across data centers, sports and entertainment venues, healthcare, hospitality, corporate, residential, and educational facilities
- Design and prepare acoustics reports
- Conduct drawing reviews and acoustics calculations
- Prepare schedules and specifications
- Interact with clients and design team members daily
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in acoustics design and measurements for the built environment
- Experience in environmental and architectural acoustics
- Experience with field measurement
- Experience with on-site construction observation
- Environmental acoustics experience, particularly with mechanical and power generation equipment in urban and suburban environments
- Ability to design and prepare acoustics reports
- Ability to conduct drawing reviews
- Ability to perform calculations related to sound isolation, noise control, and room acoustics
- Ability to prepare schedules and specifications
- Ability to interact with clients and design team members daily
- Ability to serve as Project Manager/Lead Acoustics Consultant
- Ability to assist, support, and mentor acoustics team members
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or another STEM field
- Skills and experience in computer modelling using SoundPlan
- Desire to work on multidisciplinary projects
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Limited travel availability, up to 10%
