About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain operational integrity and regulatory compliance of data center electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire life safety systems
- Follow processes that maximize customer uptime cost-effectively
- Identify and repair data center problems quickly
- Ensure contractors deliver quality services and internal customer demands are met
- Develop cost-saving and efficiency-improving strategies for mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems
- Test electromechanical assemblies and electronic volt meters
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders
- Inspect equipment for defects, leaks, and potential issues
- Install electrical/electronic parts and hardware using hand tools
- Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand and power tools
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, security, building monitoring, and control systems
- Analyze systems and provide feedback on standards and processes
- Work with contractors and consultants on quality assurance for system expansions, corrections, and upgrades
- Track and complete preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Determine maintenance requirements for facility systems
- Provide smart/remote hands assistance within specified SLAs
- Perform moves, adds, and changes, including hardware installation, labeling, power connectivity, and network cable connectivity
- Complete incident/request documentation, notification, escalation, tracking, and follow-up
- Submit accurate and timely Field Service timesheets
- Fulfill contractual client service delivery and revenue expectations
- Complete assigned Talent LMS training courses
- Adhere to Salute safety standards and client security/privacy practices
- Level III: track and trend MEP operational characteristics, support fit-outs and commissioning, track annual budgets, attend high-level meetings, and create/review/approve operational and maintenance procedures and EOPs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Level I: Associate degree or minimum of 2 years’ experience in the electrical/mechanical industry
- Level II: Associate degree or minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical/mechanical industry
- Level III: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical/mechanical industry
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, fire life safety systems, and LAN/wireless network systems used in a data center
- Ability to process hands/eye requests, including tape rotation, rack and stack of equipment, hardware inventory, device power cycling, and patch cable installation/removal
- CPR/First Aid, NFPA 70 E, and OSHA forklift training certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or greater
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70 E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and building codes
- Knowledge of networking concepts
- Current knowledge of industrial safety practices
- Ability to utilize integrated critical monitoring systems
- Microsoft 365 proficiency
- Ticket system literacy
- Basic customer service principles
