About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas
- Control access and egress
- Monitor closed-circuit televisions, cameras, and alarm systems
- Compose reports
- Deter criminal activity and misconduct
- Patrol exterior grounds
- Provide access control for gates and permit only authorized personnel
- Manage traffic flow at gates
- Maintain access logs
- Monitor cameras after normal working hours
- Notify DPR personnel of issues
- Observe and report suspicious activity
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to promote physical security and safety
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft and ensure authorized property removal
- Communicate security policies and issues as needed
- Warn violators of rule infractions
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
- Work all posts and shifts at the assigned site location
Requirements
What you’ll need- Customer service experience
- A team player with a helpful disposition
- Excellent computer skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to pass a background check and 10-panel drug screen
- Valid Unarmed Guard Card
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 40 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment-related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently in various work environments
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
- Clear vision, with or without correction
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in varying indoor temperatures
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Ability to work in elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required
