About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise, lead, and train Critical Facility Engineers
- Serve as a recognized expert within the area of specialization
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and control system maintenance and operations according to SOP/MOP/EOP
- Coordinate, supervise, and monitor activities from a 24/7/365 Facility Operations Center
- Dispatch peers to investigate or respond to Facility Operations Center alerts
- Support Facility Operations Center dispatch requests in the field
- Supervise contractors, trade workers, and vendors
- Perform facility inspections
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis for events, faults, and issues
- Drive continuous improvement of data center operations programs and processes
- Complete an 8-month Critical Facility Engineering certification program
- Foster a collaborative team culture
- Operate data center critical infrastructure 24/7/365 with 100% uptime and respond to facility reliability events
Requirements
What you’ll need- ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology; or Journeyman or Master license in the HVAC or electrical trade; or 2 years of experience in specified mission-critical engineering operations roles
- Experience performing electrical, mechanical, and control system operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire suppression/alarm systems associated with mission-critical environments
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Familiarity with NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, and IEEE standards
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 40 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Basic physical fitness for emergency response
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently in varied work environments
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
- Clear vision, with or without correction, while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work across varied indoor temperatures
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work in elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
